We live in a culture that demands constant improvement and has little tolerance for weakness. Perhaps this is because the internet allows us instant access to information and on demand music and movies. Or perhaps it actually dates back much further to the agricultural and manufacturing eras when there was far less margin for error.
Regardless of the why, one outcome of high expectations is low self-esteem. Too often when we feel we don’t meet societal expectations we interpret that message as a personal flaw which instantly authorizes our “inner critic” to begin lecturing us on our personal failings/shortcomings. This is a trap that inevitably leads to negative thinking.
Negative thinking drives negative living and all too often facilitates negative outcomes by focusing on what is wrong, rather than on what is right, in our lives. A negative lifestyle is self perpetuating because there is no space for hope; without hope it is too easy to stay stuck.
Begin today to:
- Rethink the circumstances in your life in new and different ways; from a more positive perspective.
- Become more aware of how negative thinking limits your life and to question why you accommodate its influence.
- Give yourself permission to reduce negative self-talk.
- THINK, SPEAK, ACT and BE MORE POSITIVE!
If where you are today isn’t where you want to be you can be somewhere better tomorrow if you are willing to let go of negativity and begin practicing more positive thinking. All success begins with your thoughts, so when your thinking is more positively oriented your life and your future will be too.
Positive thinking creates positive outcomes.
THINKING MORE POSITIVELY WILL:
- Make life’s challenges less intimidating and more manageable.
- Provide a stronger foundation for future success.
- Help to maximize your potential.
- Expand your sense of self.
- Increase you self-confidence.
- Strengthen your ability to prepare for and overcome setbacks.
Please tell us how you are working to create a more positive life.
